Happy Mother’s Day

She gave me my first place to stand in the world,

I have floated on her prayers ever since.

Her soul, perfect kindness, long ago outgrew her body.

Healer, sage, savior, friend

She is my oasis of peace.

I have her to thank for introducing me to God and,

imparting her theology of love.

The best of me is revealed in her eyes

When my world went dark

She said:

“I will carry your faith for you until you are strong again.”

Safe-keeping the flame, she did.

Knowing the day would come when I would return for it.

She lives a life that matters, in the most beautiful way.

Her secret: She loves too much

This is where she and God are one and the same.

It is because of her I know I’ll find my way,

Her love is in my DNA.
