Rosebud Apples
Apples are a miracle food and your grandmother’s old saying, “an apple a day keeps the doctor away,” is sage advice! They are loaded with phytonutrients, antioxidants, and fiber to promote optimal health. Studies have found that apples reduce inflammation in our bodies and cortisol levels in our brain. Apples are a great line of defense against Parkinson’s, MS, Alzheimer’s and dementia. Apples are also super for detoxing the liver, the skin, and killing unwanted bacteria in our digestive tracts (great for sufferers of IBS). Not only are apples a high-fiber, heart-healthy snack, but they also play a starring role in boosting our immune system during the cold and flu season. I recently discovered this recipe from the Medical Medium, Anthony William, a well-reagrded healer. I put my own twist on it! This recipe is easy, healthy and pretty. I serve it either alongside my old faithful recipe for Steak Frites (recipe coming!), or my Lemon Thyme Poulet. Or, for a healthy, warm Winter dessert with a dollop of fresh whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla bean gelato! Bon Appétit!

I discovered Anthony William, “The Medical Medium” in my search to help my dear friend fight her battle against colon cancer. The Medical Medium is convinced that what we eat matters to our day-to-day body and soul health. Even more important, is the food we eat when our body is in crisis, or suffering a chronic illness. Simply put, food heals! If you are not feeling your best self, I highly recommend you check out his book and follow him on instagram. You may just find a couple of suggestions that could improve your life!
