One Step Forward
“We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.”
—Martin Luther King
Fifty years on this planet, I am beginning to decipher God’s plan. It’s all about transformation. God is asking: What is your capacity, Farrell Mason? Do you truly trust me? Can you prove that you are remarkably human and practically divine? Will you keep rising?
God has always known my soul is up for the challenge. Ultimately, I (we) have to trust God’s process—and love. As the scripture proclaims, “The eye has not seen, nor the ear has heard the things God has prepared for those who love him.” Keep stepping forward.
May this prayer lift you for the week ahead!
Loving God,
One step forward,
two steps back.
One step forward,
two steps back.
Still, I am moving forward.
The path from earth back to heaven
is never going to be easy, smooth, perfect.
(I only have to look at Your own son’s life to know the hard truth.)
It taxes the mind, the heart, the body,
my soul especially.
Yet if I walk it,
You walk it with me
behind,
before,
beside,
within.
That is love,
and hope without end.
Amen.
